Despite the accusations, and possibility of truth in them, I’m saddened to see him go. I’m not going to say I’ve been a "loyal" fan over the years but I’ve admired his music. I think part of the connection was just from associating his music with certain times in my childhood. When I think of those happy points his music is connected with those memories.
Sitting on the front porch on a hot summer day, eating one of Mrs. Mackey’s ice creme cones, I think of the fake MJ glove I used to wear. It was really one of my moms "dress" gloves made of silver or gold thread. Sixth grade camp is another one of those childhood highlights. I remember John dancing to "Billie Jean" during one of our dance nights and how we were all so impressed with his moves. Even when it wasn’t really "cool" to be an MJ fan anymore I still pumped out his tunes in my first car.
