Today a guy came to our door passing out information on senator Obama and asking for support. When I informed him we already voted he said "so we can count on your support?" which of course was his way of asking if I voted for Obama. For a second I was a little surprised that he would think it’s alright to ask. I don’t mind people coming to my door to pass out political information but i do have a problem with them basically asking me who I voted for.
I do a little work for one of the smaller parties here in the UK and the data we get from door knocking is vital in future elections. It means you can target your resources and reduce wastage. But yeah, part of me feels its wrong and I refuse to go door to door myself, but the information it produces is fascinating.
